The objective of the UVP is to provide a temporary safe haven for Ukrainian researchers in the mathematical sciences who are in distress due to the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian army at the end of February 2022. The UVP supports these Ukrainian researchers to temporarily continue their research in a secure and welcoming environment at the Sydney Mathematical Research Institute in Sydney, Australia.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. SMRI will ensure that decisions on applications are made on an ongoing and timely basis, and will provide support for expedited visa applications by successful applicants to the program.

Метою Програми для українських вчених є забезпечення тимчасового притулку для математиків та вчених з суміжних дисциплін, що постраждали внаслідок військової окупації України Російською Федерацією наприкінці лютого 2022 року. Програма спрямована на надання українським науковцям можливості проведення досліджень на базі Сіднейського Інституту Математичних Досліджень у Сіднеї (Австралія).
Заявки приймаються англійською мовою. Є можливості як для індивідуальних, так і групових проєктів тривалістю від 2 тижнів до 6 місяців. Успішним аплікантам та членам їх сімей Сіднейський університет надає термінову візову та фінансову підтримку, а також покриває витрати на переліт.
