Geordie Williamson wins 2022 NSW Premier’s Prizes for Excellence in Science

SMRI is delighted to announce that Director Professor Geordie Williamson has won the prize for Excellence in Mathematics, Earth Sciences, Chemistry or Physics in the 2022 NSW Premier’s Prizes for Science & Engineering. Three University of Sydney academics have been awarded NSW Premier’s Prizes for Science & Engineering in 2022, including Professor Williamson.

Professor Glenda Halliday, a world-leading expert on neurodegeneration and member of the University of Sydney’s Brain and Mind Centre, has been named NSW Scientist of the Year. Senior Research Fellow at the School of Medicine Dr Sudarshini Ramanathan, a neurologist specialising in neuroimmunology, has won the prize for Early Career Researcher of the Year (Biological Sciences).
