National Science Week 2026 – Seeds of Science: Nurturing knowledge for all.
Sydney Mathematical Research Institute and the Chau Chak Wing Museum marked National Science week with Science at the Museum, a jam-packed two-day event that featured at capacity attendance and engagement across the weekend.
On Sunday, Mike Pritchard from the Australian Science Museum presented a fascinating deep dive into the Enigma Machine to a full house before explaining their workings to long queues of eager enthusiasts at a display of his working devices.
Maths enthusiasts of all ages took the opportunity to master the use a Caesar cipher to fine tune their cryptography skills and explore the museum’s exhibits for clues to decrypt secret messages in our interactive treasure hunt.
