Professor Helen Byrne awarded 2021 Australian Laureate Fellowship
The Sydney Mathematical Research Institute would like to congratulate Professor Helen Byrne, a member of our Scientific Advisory Committee, on being awarded a 2021 Australian Laureate Fellowship through the ARC Laureate Fellowship Scheme.
Professor Byrne was awarded her Fellowship to unlock the potential of mathematical biology creating a blueprint for future research in advanced mathematics. Further details are available on the ARC’s Fellowship program summary.
Professor Byrne presented the public lecture ‘Can calculus cure cancer?’ in 2019, co-presented by SMRI and Sydney Ideas. She is currently Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Oxford Mathematical Institute.
