Interview with SMRI visitor Andrew Krause

Assistant Professor Andrew Krause is an applied mathematician who specialises in non-linear dynamical systems. Along with Benjamin Walker and Adam Townsend, Andrew is the co-developer of VisualPDE, a unique and fun tool to visualise numerical simulations of equations in applied mathematics. Andrew visited SMRI from Durham University in June 2023, hosted by Professor Peter Kim, as part of the IVP2020 round 2.

In this interview, Andrew discusses his research in the modelling of biological processes and other dynamical systems, from human fingerprint pattern formation to Alan Turing’s chemical theory of morphogenesis.
